JetBlue returns to Columbus and lands in Indianapolis, adding two daily Florida links
JetBlue’s new Fort Lauderdale routes offer daily nonstop service and onward connections, with introductory fares subject to restrictions.
New options for two Midwest cities
JetBlue has begun daily nonstop flights linking Fort Lauderdale with Indianapolis and Columbus, Ohio, bringing the carrier to Indianapolis for the first time and back to Columbus after an 18-year absence. The first flights left Florida on November 2; the first flights in the opposite direction were scheduled for November 3.ir +1
The new service offers travelers another way to reach South Florida and connect onward to the Caribbean and Latin America. Indianapolis airport officials say the Fort Lauderdale connection opens one-stop access to 10 markets across destinations including Aruba, the Bahamas, Colombia and Puerto Rico.ind
An early start south
On both routes, JetBlue’s published schedule puts the Florida departure at 7 p.m. local time. Indianapolis passengers are scheduled to arrive at 9:39 p.m.; Columbus passengers at 9:45 p.m. The return flights leave both Midwest airports at 6 a.m. and arrive in Fort Lauderdale before 9 a.m. Schedules may change.ir
The routes use Airbus A320s. JetBlue says its standard cabin includes Wi-Fi, seatback entertainment, and complimentary snacks and drinks; its EvenMore offering adds legroom and other benefits.ir
Columbus already has a scheduled Fort Lauderdale link on Southwest, while Allegiant serves the wider Columbus area through Rickenbacker airport. Spirit Airlines’ shutdown in May removed a major low-cost carrier from Fort Lauderdale, where it had accounted for roughly 24% of passengers in April, according to a Business Traveller account citing county data.flymag +1
The $59 fare has conditions
JetBlue is advertising limited one-way Main fares from $59, available through its website for bookings by November 3. Eligible travel starts January 6, 2027, and ends March 10 for Indianapolis or March 17 for Columbus. Friday and Saturday flights and certain holiday periods are excluded; availability is limited, and baggage and other optional charges may apply.ir
Travelers comparing airlines should check the total price, not just the advertised fare: Columbus Navigator notes that baggage and seat fees can change the cost of low-priced flights.columbusnavigator The introductory offer is a starting price, not a promise that every flight or date will be available at $59.ir
