Support shifts from birth to childhood

Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has announced a broad expansion of help for Singaporean families, moving the government’s emphasis from one-off support around birth toward assistance throughout childhood. Each working parent will receive eight days of childcare leave for one child aged 12 or younger, 10 days for two children and 12 days for three or more. Preschool bills are also set to fall sharply.
