A 10-point lead disappears

The Washington Commanders scored 27 unanswered points to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27–10 on Sunday night, extending Philadelphia’s losing streak to six games. The Eagles led 10–0 in the first quarter but did not score again, dropping to 2–6 and last place in the NFC East. Washington improved to 2–4–1 with its first win in more than a month.espn +1

The result also gave Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels his first win as a starter since October 5, 2025. He completed 16 of 29 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown, with no interceptions, after an uneven start.espn +1

Pressure changes the game

Philadelphia struck first through a Jake Elliott field goal and a three-yard Saquon Barkley touchdown after Washington tight end Chig Okonkwo lost a fumble. But Washington, missing three defensive tackles, held Barkley to 30 rushing yards on 13 carries and sacked Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee five times.philadelphiaeagles +1

With Washington leading 13–10 in the third quarter, Dorance Armstrong forced a McKee fumble that Charles Omenihu recovered. On the next play, Daniels found Treylon Burks for 53 yards, setting up a Drew Stevens field goal. It was Washington’s longest completion of the season, according to the team.philadelphiaeagles +1

McKee, starting in place of the injured Jalen Hurts, finished with 212 passing yards and an interception. The Eagles managed 268 net yards; the Commanders say that was their lowest total allowed against Philadelphia since 2022.espn +1

Missed chances and a long slide

Philadelphia had a chance to cut the deficit in the fourth quarter, but an illegal-formation penalty erased Elliott’s made field goal. His second attempt from 41 yards hit the upright. Stevens then made his fourth field goal to extend Washington’s lead, and Rasul Douglas intercepted McKee before Rachaad White’s late touchdown sealed the win.espn +1

The Eagles’ problems extend beyond one night. NBC Sports Philadelphia reports that they have allowed at least 100 rushing yards in each of their first eight games; Washington gained 135 on the ground Sunday.nbcsportsphiladelphia +1 Philadelphia next hosts the New York Giants, while Washington hosts the Los Angeles Rams.espn
