The proposed R1-S uses heat pipes to carry heat from its core, reducing reliance on moving components. Criticality was a start, not a finish
Antares gained technical momentum in June when its Mark-0 microreactor reached zero-power criticality at Idaho National Laboratory. Fuel availability adds another constraint.
